Remember the restaurant O Bem Disposto? It was reborn in Comporta

The name is recognized by many fans of the gastronomic proposals and the famous paella by Luis Baptista, who for seven years led one of the most recognized restaurants in Campo de Ourique.

The history of the restaurant O Bem Disposto is intertwined with that of the Baptista family. It is a story of passion for gastronomy, of experiences acquired in the restaurant business, and of friendship. Luis Baptista founded the first restaurant of the same name in Lapa in 1996. With only 40 seats and many regular customers, the desire for a larger space gave way, two years later, to the first O Bem Disposto, located in Campo de Ourique, where his daughter, Mariana Baptista, developed a taste for the restaurant business.

Years later, in 2005, O Bem Disposto in Campo de Ourique closed its doors, but a new business opened: O Bem Disposto Catering. Now, the space is reborn in Comporta.

The concept remains the same, as do the name and the classic dishes on the menu with genuinely Portuguese flavors. But the new version of O Bem Disposto has much more to discover. The project's mentor was joined by his daughter, which resulted in a menu and ambiance that reflect the meeting of two generations and distinct experiences in the restaurant business, with an expanded menu of lighter options, with some international influences and a contemporary presentation.

The starters feature several typical snacks from the Iberian Peninsula, such as gambas ajillo, mushroom and ham croquettes, salmorejo with crispy ham, Iberian pork loin or partridge in escabeche with slices of Alentejo bread.

Among the main dishes, the meat options continue to be among the favorites, especially the sirloin fondue, the grilled black pork ribs and the steaks (Portuguese style and four peppers), this being an opportunity to 'relive' the 'Bem Disposto' steak.

The black paella with aioli, with seafood and squid ink is one of the highlights of the menu. The fish dishes menu is complemented with a traditional codfish à brás and a prawn curry.

For those who prefer vegetarian or vegan dishes, there is chickpea curry with mango or the vegetable à brás. In the drinks section, there are fruit and vegetable-based smoothies, such as X-Energy, Jungle Juice or Morning Glory.

Thinking about making life easier for those who seek the area for weekends and vacations, O Bem Disposto launched a new 'take away' and 'delivery' project this year.

And that's not all. Four-legged friends are also welcome. With a terrace located in a nature reserve, O Bem Disposto is also a 'pet friendly' restaurant.
