Do you like coconut water? It is a drink with benefits and very easy to incorporate into a healthy and balanced diet. Not convinced? Samantha Dieras, a dietitian, and Elizabeth Sharp, a doctor, both quoted in the British edition of Glamour, mentioned the five most important qualities of coconut water. Take note!

Health benefits of coconut water that everyone should know:
- Contains many nutrients and antioxidants. For example, a glass of coconut water has "amino acids, antimicrobial peptides, carbohydrates, enzymes, electrolytes, vitamin C and antioxidants", says Samantha Dieras;
- Hydrates. In case you don't know, "coconut water is made with 95% water, which makes it a top source of hydration for when you are thirsty or low on energy";
- Is a healthy alternative to sugary drinks. "It is low in calories and contains less fat than other sugary fruit juices, which makes it the healthier alternative", explains Elizabeth Sharp;
- Can help prevent kidney stones. As it hydrates and has many electrolytes, "coconut water can be very useful in preventing kidney stones", created when calcium and other compounds form crystals in the urine;
- Replenishes electrolytes after a workout. When we sweat excessively and make an effort with our muscles, our body lacks electrolytes and, fortunately, "coconut water contains certain electrolytes, such as sodium, potassium and magnesium, which can help balance this need".
