Menopause Symptoms That Many Women Don't Know About

There are some menopause symptoms that everyone knows about. There are others that most women don't associate with this stage of life, say Mary Claire Haver, a gynecologist, and Sarah Berry, a professor of nutritional sciences, quoted in Huffpost, a blog aggregator. Which ones?

Menopause symptoms that many women don't know about:
- Musculoskeletal problems. "About 80%" of people in menopause have this type of problem and for "20% of them, it's the worst symptom, the symptom that most disrupts life", explained Mary Claire Haver;
- Symptoms similar to those of dementia. Unfortunately, symptoms such as brain fog can manifest in some people who are in menopause;
- Panic attacks. In some cases, "the level of anxiety increases, then you get very hot and start to sweat", she explains;
- Urinary tract infections and vaginal dryness. In case you don't know, there are estrogen receptors throughout the body, especially in the bladder and vagina, "when we lose estrogen in those areas, we start to have dryness, as well as loss of lubrication and recurrent infections";
- Sleep disturbances. "More than 80%" of people in menopause report sleep disturbances as their main symptom", says Sarah Berry.
