Swelling can occur for reasons beyond our control. Others, such as those foods that you like to use in your cooking, can also cause inflammation.

With this in mind, the Saber Vivir portal has brought together six nuts with anti-inflammatory properties that promote healthy aging. They are especially recommended for those who have already passed the 50-year mark.

1- Walnuts

Walnuts are rich in alpha-linolenic acid, from the omega 3 family, which fights inflammation and can help reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems or even arthritis, an inflammatory joint disease.

2- Pistachio

Rich in nutrients, such as lutein and vitamins A and E, which help reduce oxidative stress caused by free radicals.

3- Hazelnut

Rich in monounsaturated fatty acids and other nutrients, it is an anti-inflammatory food. In addition, it contains phenolic compounds, which not only fight inflammation but also help reduce cholesterol levels in the blood.

4- Almonds

They provide a good amount of vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps control inflammation.

5- Pecan

It is a source of magnesium, a mineral with anti-inflammatory properties. Pecan is also rich in antioxidants, such as vitamin E, beta-carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin, which protect cells from damage caused by free radicals.

6- Brazil nut

Contains a high content of selenium, a nutrient with powerful anti-inflammatory properties, and is also rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E and minerals such as magnesium, copper and zinc.
