Summer is almost here and you don't feel like you have the body you wanted for this time of year? If you have too much fat in your belly area, there are some foods that may be the culprits.

Processed meats

"The nitrites and nitrates used cause inflammation, a key factor in fat storage and chronic disease," says Mrinal Pandit.

Sweets

"High in sugar and trans fat, increasing your risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease."

Fried foods

"Trans fats raise your bad cholesterol, lower your good cholesterol, and also lead to heart disease."

French fries

"Many are fried in unhealthy oils and covered in salt, making them very high in calories and unhealthy fats," explains Joanna Wen.

Ice cream

"It's high in calories and often contains high amounts of added sugar."

Cookies

"They tend to be loaded with sugar and white flour, which can cause blood sugar spikes."

White bread

"It has negative side effects for health and belly fat."
