Having beautiful skin depends not only on the creams you use, but also on what you eat. To maintain a healthy appearance, the largest organ of the human body needs to be 'fed'.

Speaking to the newspaper Metrópoles, nutritionist Maria Fernanda Romagnoli revealed four foods that contribute to the health and appearance of the skin. The best part is that they are options for everyone, including vegetarians.

1- Berries

Nutritionist Maria Fernanda Romagnoli emphasizes that fruits such as strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries "are rich in antioxidants, such as vitamins C and E, which help fight cell damage and keep the skin looking healthier". In addition, "they are fruits with low calorie content, which makes them ideal for those who want to lose weight".

2- Chia

Chia stands out for being a privileged source of fiber, omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants. "It promotes satiety, helps with digestive health and contributes to skin health, helping to delay aging", she summarizes.

4- Saffron

With antioxidant properties, saffron is a spice with a powerful anti-aging action.

4- Carrot

In addition to being beneficial for the skin, "it fights aging due to its high content of beta-carotene, an antioxidant that the body converts into vitamin A". The carrot also contains vitamin C, "which helps protect the skin", concludes Romagnoli.
