Knees are an important part of mobility. To reduce the risk of injury and pain, there are habits that you should avoid at all costs. They can cause other types of problems later on, which is not what you want.

The blog aggregator HuffPost spoke with some medical specialists in the area, such as orthopedists Eric Grossman and Daniel Miller, to find out what you should avoid in order to keep your knees healthy.

Doing high-impact exercises after a long time stopped

"A mistake that many people make is to rush into exercises quickly and go from zero to 100," explains Eric Grossman.

Ignoring the pain

"By ignoring the pain, you are also more likely to increase the current injury, as well as expose yourself to other types of damage," says Daniel Miller.

Not warming up

"They help bring blood flow to the muscles and reduce the risk of knee injuries."

Poor nutrition

"A healthy diet rich in antioxidants and vitamins promotes joint health," says Dr. Shawn Anthony.

Not exercising properly

"One of the most common reasons for injuries is lifting weights improperly."
