When it comes to staying sedentary and going for a quick walk each day, it's always better to get out of the house and off the couch. But is it enough exercise to actually see results?

Eat This, Not That spoke with personal trainers Jordan Fernandez and Domenic Angelino to get the scoop. "It all depends on your goals, current fitness level, life stage, and many other factors," says Fernandez.

You can always up your exercise to reap more benefits. "If walking is your only form of exercise and you're looking to continually improve your fitness, you'll need to increase the intensity, whether that's walking on an incline, covering more distance, or picking up the pace."

Angelino agrees. "It can help you burn more calories than you would otherwise. If you can tack on an extra 15 minutes or more of walking a few times per week, you'll reach your fat loss goals that much faster."

You may start to notice some physical benefits, too. "If you're walking regularly at a brisk pace, you'll find that climbing multiple flights of stairs will start to feel easier."
