Morning or Night Showers? Science Has Decided (And the Answer Isn’t Obvious)

So, should we shower in the morning or at night? According to a 2022 survey by the Sleep Foundation, 42% of American adults prefer to start their day with a shower. Only 25% shower before going to bed. But science may have reached a conclusion.
As IFLScience writes, morning showers have some advantages, as they can promote alertness, helping the body's circadian rhythm. Showering upon waking is especially indicated for those who sweat a lot at night.

More: a morning shower with cool water helps trigger the release of neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, cortisol, dopamine and norepinephrine, which help regulate emotions and reduce stress levels. An article in Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy states that cold water reaches the cold receptors in the skin and sends electrical impulses to the brain that reduce pain.
On the other hand, those who prefer to shower at night argue that they do so to relax. And the truth is that if this is your preference, nothing against it. On the contrary, it even does good, as it helps to clean the dirt accumulated on the skin throughout the day.
