Yes, you read that correctly. You should clean your coffee maker regularly. Why? Because every time you use it, mineral deposits from your water supply build up inside. Not sure how to clean yours? It's easier than you might think. Just follow these tips from the experts at Kitchn.
Ready to give it a try? All you'll need is white distilled vinegar; water; a brush (like a bottle brush); and a microfiber cloth.

How to clean a coffee maker in just five minutes:
- First, combine equal parts vinegar and water in a measuring cup.
- Pour the mixture into the coffee maker.
- Let the solution brew, then turn off the coffee maker, unplug it, and let it cool.
- Dip your microfiber cloth into the solution and use it to wipe down the exterior of the coffee maker.
- Use the brush to scrub the inside. "Be sure to get in all the nooks and crannies."
- Discard the solution. Rinse with water.
- Brew a pot or two of water and discard. This will help "remove any lingering vinegar smell or taste."
