Ingredients:
12 ounces broccoli
1 medium lemon
2 tablespoons canola oil or olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons salt, divided
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, plus more for serving
4 salmon fillets
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions:
1- Position a rack in the upper third of the oven and preheat to 400 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and place inside while the oven heats.
2- Trim the broccoli stalks. Then trim any woody ends from the broccoli florets and peel the stalks. Cut the stalks in half lengthwise, then slice them crosswise on a slight diagonal into 1/2-inch-thick pieces. Cut the florets into 1-inch pieces. Cut the lemon into wedges.
3- Add the florets and stalks to the hot baking sheet. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons canola oil or olive oil, season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and toss to coat. Spread into an even layer and arrange cut-side down.
4- Roast the broccoli for 8 to 10 minutes. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season all over with the remaining 1 teaspoon salt. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and mustard and stir to combine.
5- Push the broccoli to the edges of the baking sheet. Place the salmon skin-side down in the now-empty section of the baking sheet. Brush the brown sugar mixture all over the top and sides of the salmon.
5- Return to the oven and roast for 6 to 8 minutes more. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork. Serve with the lemon wedges and additional black pepper.
