Canned fish "Protein slows digestion and increases satiety, or feeling of fullness, which promotes blood sugar stability," says Lilian Nwora.
Canned beans "This combo of protein and fiber slows the absorption of glucose and helps keep blood sugar levels steady throughout the day," says Emily Haddock.
Canned vegetables "The fiber in canned veggies slows digestion, which helps prevent blood sugar spikes," says Hannah Heredia.
Canned tomatoes "They're very low in carbohydrates and high in antioxidants that support heart health."
