Cook killed by inmate in Spain had reported her murderer
The inmate, who took his own life after the crime, was serving an 11-year sentence for murdering a prostitute in 2016.

Nuria, the cook at the Mas d'Enric prison in the Spanish city of Tarragona, who was killed by an inmate last Wednesday, had complained about the prisoner's behavior.
According to the Spanish station Telecinco, the complaints were about disrespect, but they were not enough to prevent the death of the 44-year-old employee.
The inmate, who took his own life after the crime, was serving an 11-year sentence for murdering a prostitute in 2016. He had been working in the kitchen for three years, which is one of the most coveted and well-paid jobs in prison.
In December, he was convicted of a violent act against another inmate and was removed from the kitchen. However, he returned to his post some time later, without any explanation from the prison.
"We were surprised. It is a position that cannot be held with a stain on the resume," lamented a colleague of the victim, quoted by the newspaper La Vanguardia.
According to the surveillance cameras, the inmate, Iulian Odriste, of Romanian nationality, went to Nuria's room, where the cook was organizing the next day's tasks, said something to her, and both got up and went to the cold room.
Six minutes later, the man left towards the place where the kitchen utensils were and returned to the cold room. Later, he came out again with a bloody knife and took his own life in the kitchen.
