The operation by Israeli forces caused the death of the commander of the so-called Tulkarem Battalion of the Islamic Jihad Muhamad Jaber, known as Abu Shuja, as confirmed today by family sources to the Palestinian news portal Sanad News.

The Al-Jazeera station, citing its own sources, also reports the death of the combatant, whose brother, Mahmud, died in December in an attack also in Nur Shams.
According to local media sources cited by the EFE agency, the attack on the refugee camp caused at least five deaths.
The Palestinian Red Crescent emergency service said that one of the wounded is a volunteer paramedic who was trying to treat one of the victims in the refugee camp and reported that ambulances were not authorized to enter to remove the victims.
The Israeli Army, for its part, confirmed that its forces carried out an operation in Nur Shams on Thursday night, in which "they eliminated several terrorists" and made arrests.
According to the Army, the soldiers also found explosives and ammunition and searched several buildings in the camp.
Four of the soldiers involved in the operation suffered minor injuries and were transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
The occupied West Bank is experiencing its greatest spiral of violence since the Second Intifada (2000-2005) and in these first four months of 2024 alone at least 138 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, most of them alleged militiamen or aggressors, but also civilians, including about 30 minors, according to an EFE count.
The Army intensified its already frequent incursions into the occupied West Bank after the attack by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on October 7, 2023 in Israel - triggering the current war in the Gaza Strip - and, since then, about 468 Palestinians have died in violent incidents with Israeli troops or settlers.
