Relatives of hostages block highway linking Tel Aviv and Jerusalem
A group of relatives of hostages kidnapped by the Hamas Islamist movement during the October 7 attacks, in which more than 1,200 people died, today blocked the main highway connecting Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Dozens of family members again took to the streets to protest against the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, demanding he take action to secure the release of their loved ones and bring them home.
The families of the hostages have held numerous similar protests since the attacks, which saw 240 hostages taken.
The Israeli military retaliated by launching an offensive against the Gaza Strip, which resulted in an estimated 40,000 deaths.
However, Hamas has only agreed to release a small number of people as part of a temporary deal agreed in November, which also saw dozens of Palestinian prisoners freed from Israeli jails.
