The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported today that so far 190 bodies have been recovered at the Nasser hospital after the Israeli troops withdrew on April 7 from Khan Yunis, where they had been for four months.

In a statement, the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, said that "50 martyrs of different ages" had been found buried in the hospital courtyards.

"They were executed in cold blood and buried with military bulldozers," the Palestinian group said, criticizing the United States for its "unlimited military and political support" for the Israeli government.

Authorities in the Gaza Strip estimate that at least 500 people are missing in the Khan Yunis area.

The Health Ministry in the Strip reported the deaths of 48 more people in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities in the enclave since the beginning of the war on October 7 to 34,097.

Israeli forces had been operating in Khan Younis for four months, where they justified the attack on the Nasser hospital, as had happened in other medical complexes such as Al-Shifa in Gaza, with the presence of alleged members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
