Biden narrows Trump's lead in presidential race, poll shows
US President Joe Biden has cut Republican Donald Trump's lead to two percentage points ahead of November's presidential election, according to an NBC News poll released on Thursday.

According to the poll, Biden is closer to Trump, who still maintains an advantage (44% to 46%), when the difference was five percentage points in favor of Trump in a previous survey, conducted in January (42% to 47%).
However, only 64% of registered voters said they were very interested in the elections, the lowest level in almost 20 years.
The poll was conducted between April 12 and 16, at a turbulent time for American politics, with the start of Trump's trial in New York and with increased tension in the Middle East.
If Biden, 81, outperforms Trump, 77, on issues such as abortion rights and uniting the country, the former Republican president leads on competence and control of inflation.
This poll, conducted nationally by NBC News and cited by the Efe agency, indicates that inflation and immigration lead the list of the most important problems in the country, while only a third of voters give Biden credit for improving the economy.
The two candidates are virtually tied among independent voters (Biden 36%, Trump 34%) and those between the ages of 18 and 34 (Biden 44%, Trump 43%), according to the poll, cited by the Efe agency.
"One of the great mysteries of this cycle's polls is whether young voters have abandoned Biden" or whether Democrats maintain their advantage in this demographic group, notes the NBC News survey.
Although Trump has a two-percentage-point advantage over Biden in the head-to-head match-up, Biden leads Trump by two points (39-37%) in a five-way race that includes the independent candidacy of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and others from different parties.
