Traffic Resumes in Area of Old Copenhagen Stock Exchange After Fire
Traffic on the Knippel bridge has been resumed, while police have been allowed to enter the ruins of the building.

Traffic around the former Copenhagen Stock Exchange in Denmark resumed on Monday after a fire tore through the building last week.
According to ABC News , traffic was flowing again over the Knippel Bridge, while police were allowed to enter the gutted building. “We are now at a stage where the police can go in and look into things,” said Jakob Vedsted Andersen, Copenhagen’s fire chief.
The cause of the blaze is still unknown.
The fire, which broke out last Tuesday, destroyed more than half of the building, which was undergoing renovations. Its green copper roof collapsed, as did its distinctive dragon-tail spire. However, crews were able to rescue the building’s most valuable paintings and artifacts from the inferno.
No injuries were reported.
A landmark in the Danish capital, the former stock exchange was built in the 17th century and would have celebrated its 400th anniversary this year.
