A student from the IES Celia Viñas school in Almería, Spain, lost the vision in one eye after being attacked by a classmate in March this year. The Juvenile Court issued, on Monday, a 200-meter restraining order against the alleged aggressor at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, who is also indicted for a crime of assault and another against moral integrity.
According to judicial sources explained to La Vanguardia, the incident occurred on March 11 when the young man began to insult the victim during a class. During the testimony, the victim realized that these insults had been going on for a long time and, tired of the attitude, asked the colleague to go talk in the hallway when the class was over.
Apparently, the victim grabbed the aggressor by the collar, who punched him shortly after. But at this point, the statements of both diverge, since the victim claims not to have acted on the colleague, while the latter says that he headbutted him before the assault.
However, both admit that the punch happened and that the victim fell to the ground afterwards, having to be transported to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with neuropathy in his left eye, which caused total loss of vision in that eye.
The aggressor was suspended for six days from the IES Celia Viñas and was forced to undergo awareness training.
The victim, who at best could recover 20% of his vision, according to his lawyer, is undergoing psychological treatment because he presents "high levels of anxiety, depression and inability to go to class, interact with colleagues and continue. with studies".
