Sabreen Alrouh Jouda was born an orphan... and her case is already a symbol of the war between Hamas and Israel. During yet another series of airstrikes against the city of Rafah, in Gaza, the family home was hit and Sabreen Sakani's mother, 30 years old, father Shukri Joudah, and three-year-old sister were killed.

The family's death was declared at the Kuwaiti Hospital, on Saturday, but NBC was still able to record the moment when the doctors decided to deliver the baby, who was 30 weeks pregnant, and managed to bring little Sabreen into the world.

After the attack, the baby girl made headlines for having been removed from her already dead mother's womb and having survived. Now, the closest family share the contradictory feeling they have about Sabreen's birth.

The baby girl, initially lifeless, it should be recalled, was rushed to a room on the upper floor of the building, where she was subjected to resuscitation maneuvers. Weighing only 1 kg, the baby girl was successfully resuscitated.

The newborn was transferred to the Emirati Hospital, where she was placed in a neonatal care unit, where she has already been visited by her paternal grandmother and an uncle.

"I don't know if I should be happy because she was born or sad", admitted the 25-year-old uncle, admitting that the joy of her birth is being overshadowed by the death of her parents. "Our lives are a mess", he adds.

The grandmother, on the other hand, could not hold back her tears, next to the incubator, where she stated, quoted by NBC, that the baby girl is her joy.

Sabreen Alrouh Jouda is thus the happy ending of a tragedy that has claimed the lives of many children since October 7. Her birth is a sign of hope in a region marked by destruction.
