According to the same source, there are reports of dozens of tornadoes that have caused damage in the central region of the United States since Friday, with flood warnings and alerts for this Sunday, which includes the states of Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas.

In Oklahoma, a tornado hit the city of Holdenville on Saturday, with about 5,000 inhabitants, killing two people and injuring four others, according to a statement from the Hughes County Emergency Medical Services.

Another person died on Interstate 35, near the city of Marietta, in southern Oklahoma, according to the Department of Emergencies.

In the city of Holdemville, the tornado caused the destruction of several houses and knocked down several traffic signs.

"My prayers are with those who lost loved ones as tornadoes ravaged Oklahoma last night," said Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma governor has already declared a state of emergency in 12 counties due to the consequences of the bad weather, at a time when authorities continue to clean up the debris and assess the damage from the severe storms, which knocked down power lines.

More than 30,000 people were without power in Oklahoma as of noon Sunday, and nearly 52,000 customers were without electricity in Texas, according to poweroutage.us, which tracks utility outages.

In the city of Sulfur (Oklahoma), authorities reported unspecified injuries, along with significant destruction, and search and rescue operations were still underway, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The storms also affected the state of Nebraska, with the greatest impact on the city of Omaha, causing damage and injuries, but no fatalities.
