A 29-year-old homeless man was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of killing another man in the parking lot of a Las Vegas convenience store and eating part of his face.
According to CBS, the suspect, Colin Czech, knocked Kenneth Brown to the ground during a fight and repeatedly bashed the victim’s head into the pavement.
An employee of the store witnessed the attack and called police.
When officers arrived, Czech was eating the victim’s face. Brown was taken to a hospital with a large laceration to his face, a missing eye and a missing ear, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
During questioning about the killing, Czech allegedly told police that he had been awake for five days because he was “possessed” and that Brown, who he did not know prior to the incident, had attacked him. The suspect said he used “just my teeth” as the weapon in the attack.
According to Las Vegas police, Czech lost consciousness several times during the interview.
The man, who is expected to undergo a psychological evaluation, is being held without bail pending a court hearing.
