Desperate due to the drought that has lasted for several months, the residents of Phayuha Khiri, in Thailand, decided to resort to an unusual method to make it rain.
France Presse reports that it all happened last Tuesday, April 30. The Phayuha Khiri community gathered for a procession, whose central figure in the parade was a Doraemon plush, a famous Japanese anime, in the shape of a cat. All to ask the gods for rain.
The well-known aversion of felines to water leads some people to associate animals with rain, so for the Thai, parading with one of them can attract precipitation.
As there are no cats in Phayuha Khiri, the residents decided to use a stuffed animal for this purpose. Despite this, according to France Presse, it has not yet rained in the region.
