Floods in Brazil have already killed 31 people. Thousands ask for help on the internet
At least 74 people are missing and 56 injured. More than 350,000 have been affected by the heavy rains that hit several cities in southern Brazil.

The Civil Defense of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil, confirmed the death of 31 people due to the floods that hit the region in recent days.
In addition to the deaths already confirmed, the authorities revealed that 74 people are missing and 56 injured.
According to the information given at 9 am this Friday, local time - 1 pm in mainland Portugal - more than 350,000 people are affected in 235 municipalities of the Brazilian state, 17,087 of whom are displaced.
On social networks, there are many requests for help. So much so that a group of citizens decided to create SOS Enchentes, a movement that aims to increase support for flood victims and increase the visibility of aid points.
Through this movement, which has since created a page at the Vakinha Institute, people affected by the catastrophe can appeal for fundraising and those who want to help can do so through the same platform.
Thousands of people have already asked for help to rebuild their homes and, ultimately, their lives.
One of the affected families is that of a journalist from Notícias ao Minuto Brasil. As he tells in the 'vakinha', the floods hit Santa Rosa on Thursday, May 2, destroying "all the furniture in the house" of his parents, who were left without "a bed, sofa, or appliances".
The journalist created this fundraiser without his parents knowing, "because they are too proud to ask for help". However, all help will be welcome to rebuild the lives of "these two workers" who were victims of the floods that hit the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
