Frelimo. Political Commission presents three candidates for Nyusi's succession
Frelimo's political commission proposed today the names of Roque Silva, Damião José and Daniel Chapo as pre-candidates to succeed Filipe Nyusi as President of the Republic of Mozambique in the general elections of October 9th.

According to internal information that Lusa had access to, the list, which includes the current secretary-general, Roque Silva, was approved at the political commission meeting of the Mozambique Liberation Front (Frelimo) and immediately submitted to the extraordinary session of the party's Central Committee, which is already taking place in Matola, on the outskirts of Maputo.
It is up to the Central Committee, the party's highest body between congresses, to approve Frelimo's candidate for the October presidential election, which may also decide to add other candidates.
