In a message on social media, the head of European diplomacy expressed his "strong condemnation" of the attack perpetrated by violent settlers, also expressing solidarity with Jordan, a country affected by this action.
"It is despicable that people who lack nothing stop food reaching those in need. Israel must ensure safe delivery of aid," Borrell defended, harshly accusing the radical settlers.
Last April, the EU had already approved sanctions against six people and entities for exacerbating Jewish supremacy and for being behind riots and attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank.

Amman denounced on Wednesday that one of the humanitarian aid convoys attacked was intended to pass through Kerem Shalom, while the other was to enter Gaza through the Erez crossing.
Both ended up reaching their destination despite the attack.
