Ukrainian forces struck an oil storage depot Tuesday night, causing a large fire and injuring five people on the outskirts of the Russian-held city of Luhansk in eastern Ukraine, the region’s leader said.

"During the night, the enemy launched a strike on the peaceful city of Luhansk, hitting an oil storage depot on the city’s outskirts,” Leonid Pasechnik, the Russia-backed head of the Luhansk People’s Republic, wrote on Telegram.

He later said five depot workers were injured and taken to the hospital.

All units of the local branch of the Russian Emergencies Ministry were called in to fight the blaze.

There was no immediate comment from Ukraine on the report.
