A man who was upset about his McDonald’s order and wanted a refund fatally shot another customer who tried to calm him down Saturday afternoon in Houston, Texas.
Jeffrey Limmer, 46, was killed after getting into an argument with an irate customer who demanded a refund for his order, ABC13 reported.
The fight spilled outside the fast-food restaurant, and Limmer tackled the aggressor to the ground, according to the Houston Police Department.
The man then retrieved a gun from his vehicle and shot Limmer before fleeing the scene in a pickup truck.
Limmer’s sister said the man, who was an attorney, lived near the McDonald’s and was a regular customer.
“Knowing Jeff, he’s the one that’s always saying, ‘Calm down, it’s not a big deal.’ He always wanted to fight for the underdog and do the right thing,” Jennifer Thomas told the outlet.
Authorities are still searching for the shooter.
