"Today Hamas attacked Kerem Shalom, for the third time this week," an Israeli military spokesman told EFE.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) warned today that no aid was entering the Gaza Strip, despite the announcement by Israeli authorities that they had reopened Kerem Shalom in the morning and were inspecting aid trucks.

Kerem Shalom, one of two crossing points in the south of the Palestinian enclave, was closed by the army after a Hamas rocket attack on a nearby military base on Sunday.

The Rafah crossing, at the southern end of the Strip, is also closed after the Israeli army took it over as part of a military operation in the east of the city, in which dozens of people died as a result of two days of intense bombing by Tel Aviv forces.
