On Thursday, Florida officials released body-camera footage showing deputies fatally shooting an Air Force airman inside his apartment.
International media report that police responded to a possible domestic disturbance call at the Chez Elan Apartments in Fort Walton Beach on May 3.
Responding to the call, police mistakenly went to Roger Fortson's apartment and knocked on his door. He was suspicious of the request and retrieved his service weapon before opening the door.
As soon as he opened the door, Roger was shot multiple times by the deputy, who fired upon seeing that he was armed.

The 23-year-old was shot six times and died. It has now been confirmed that the deputy went to the wrong apartment and killed the airman, who had nothing to do with the domestic violence call. The family is demanding justice.

Police said the deputy acted in self-defense after seeing Fortson armed with a handgun. The deputy, whose name has not been released, has been placed on administrative leave, The New York Times reports.
Okaloosa County Sheriff Eric Aden said the shooting is under investigation.
