The images, which last about ten seconds and whose recording date is not specified, show a man with a swollen eye, with a dejected look and saying his name, filmed in front of a white tiled wall, in what appears to be a dark place.

The message is accompanied by 'hashtags' written in Arabic and Hebrew: "Time is running out" and "Your Government is lying".

The video comes on the 218th day of the war and at a time when indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas are continuing to ensure a truce in Gaza and the release of the hostages, after the delegations of the mediating countries (Egypt, Qatar and the United States) left Cairo on Thursday without having reached an agreement at the end of the talks.

The video was released three days before May 14, the date of the proclamation of the State of Israel, created in 1948.

The war broke out on October 7, when Hamas commandos infiltrated into Gaza carried out an unprecedented attack on Israel, killing more than 1,170 people, mostly civilians, according to an AFP report based on official Israeli data.

More than 250 people have been kidnapped and 128 remain in captivity in Gaza, 36 of whom are believed to have died, according to the Israeli army.

In response, Israel vowed to "annihilate" Hamas, which has been in power in Gaza since 2007, and to free the hostages, launching an offensive that has already killed 34,971, according to the Health Ministry of the Islamist movement.

Other hostage videos have already been released by Palestinian armed groups since the start of the war.

The hostages who spoke in the previous videos testified to the conditions in which they were being held and also questioned the Israeli authorities.
