The two men were detained in March during an Israeli army offensive on the outskirts of Al Amal Hospital in Khan Younis, in the south of the Palestinian enclave.
"This morning, the occupation forces released two members of the Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance crew: Ahmad Abdul Khaliq Abu Taima and paramedic Mumin Shabab al Taif," the organization announced in a message posted on the x (formerly Twitter) social network.
According to the same source, the two men were working at the hospital when they were detained on 24 March and are now in hospital.
The Palestinian Red Crescent also announced that four other workers are still being held by Israel and that "their fate is unknown".
The war in Gaza was triggered by an unprecedented attack by Palestinian Islamists from Hamas on 07 October 2023, which caused around 1,200 deaths and two hundred hostages, according to the Israeli authorities.
In retaliation, Israel launched an offensive, which has already caused almost 35,000 deaths, according to Hamas, which has governed the Palestinian enclave since 2007.
