The employees of the Villacañas health center, a municipality in Spain, reported the threats, including death threats, and the insults made by a woman who went to the place with her daughter.

The events occurred on Saturday, as reported in a statement by the CSIF union, which criticizes the fact that the health center's "panic button" did not work and that there was no security personnel, "despite the fact that violent situations are frequent," reports La Tribuna de Toledo.

The case dates back to 12:30 p.m. (local time), when a woman went to the health center with her underage daughter, requesting medical assistance for the child due to respiratory allergy symptoms.

The woman was making a video call and the employees told her three times that she had to hang up the phone to enter the consultation, to which she responded, according to the CSIF press release, with insults and threats such as "I'm going to kill you" or "I'm going to rip your guts out."

The health personnel activated the "panic button", but it did not work, so they called the Guardia Civil and took refuge in the corridor where the consultation rooms are located, whose access is closed by a wooden door with a lock.

However, the woman managed to open the door with a "strong kick", but left the place to look for a family member. At that moment, the staff of the health center took the opportunity to close the outside door until the Guardia Civil arrived.

The union considered it "particularly serious" that the 'panic button', which is "an essential tool to act quickly in this type of situation and which should be checked periodically", was not working, and that there was no surveillance in a health center where "the workers themselves say that threats and insults are frequent".

The employees of the Villacañas health center filed the corresponding complaint and requested a meeting with the Integrated Care Management of Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real), to which Villacañas belongs, to demand measures.
