A woman who ran an unlicensed daycare in Missouri was sentenced to 24 years in prison Monday in the death of an 8-month-old boy who was left alone with other toddlers. The case dates back to 2022, when police and paramedics in Springfield were called to a home after the woman, 47-year-old Deborah Lundstrom, reported that the boy was not breathing, the Associated Press reported. Despite efforts to resuscitate the child, he was pronounced dead at a hospital. An investigation found that Lundstrom had been caring for nine children under the age of 3 when she left the residence for about 12 minutes, leaving them unsupervised. When she returned, she found the 8-month-old unresponsive. In February, she was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and other charges.
