Former U.S. President and Republican candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday accepted Democratic President Joe Biden's proposal for two debates in June and September, saying his opponent will be easy to defeat in the face-offs.

Biden, 81, and Trump, 77, have debated before, during the 2020 presidential election, and the current president, in a video message, proposed two in-person televised debates without an audience.

"Corrupt Joe Biden is the worst debater I've ever faced," Trump wrote on his Truth social network, responding to the Democratic candidate's challenge.

"He makes Sleepy Joe Biden look like a genius," added Trump, who is facing a trial in New York and has three other open criminal cases, involving 91 charges.

Thus, in an audio-visual message - which followed a letter sent to the Commission on Presidential Debates, a bipartisan entity that has organized the televised debates since 1988 - Biden referred to the days when Trump is not required to appear in court, as possible dates for the debates.

"Name the dates, Donald. I hear you're free on Wednesdays," Biden said.

"I am ready and willing to debate Corrupt Joe on the two proposed dates in June and September," Trump replied.

"I would strongly recommend that we have more than two debates and, for entertainment purposes, a very large venue, although Biden supposedly likes small crowds," the Republican candidate ironized.
