A calf from the world's most expensive cow, Viatina, will be auctioned this Wednesday, May 15th, to raise funds for the victims of the Rio Grande do Sul floods. The goal is to raise three million reais, equivalent to more than 538 thousand euros.

The auction will offer 100 quotas of 30 thousand reais (about 5,382 euros) - totaling the final value, reveals G1.

Viatina entered the Guinness World Records as the world's most expensive cow last year, after being valued at 21 million reais (equivalent to 3,768,868 million).

The calf is still being carried by a cow that served as a surrogate mother, with an embryo that is the result of a cross between Viatina and the bull Kayak TE Mafra.

The sale will take place at the 1st Agro Solidário Auction, held by the Leilões Program and Parceria Leilões. All the money raised will be 100% reversed to help the victims of the tragedy that struck the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

It should be noted that the heavy rains and floods that have affected Rio Grande do Sul since the end of April have already killed more than 140 people, with more than 100 missing and 800 injured, according to the latest official report.
