In a statement, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attacks in response to an Israeli airstrike that killed a local commander of the movement the previous day.

Since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, on October 7, there have been daily exchanges of cross-border fire between the Israeli army and Hezbollah.

According to the Lebanese group, its fighters "launched an air attack using several 'drones'" against a base located west of Tiberias.

Hezbollah's attacks have so far been limited to Israeli cities and bases located near the border with Lebanon.

Earlier in the day, the Lebanese movement said it had launched "dozens of Katyusha rockets" at the Meron air control military base in northern Israel, and that it had also targeted the Biranit barracks.

According to the Israeli army, air raid sirens sounded in Meron.

Tel Aviv forces announced the elimination of a local Hezbollah commander, Hussein Makki, in an airstrike on the coastal city of Tyre, in southern Lebanon.

More than seven months of cross-border violence have left at least 412 dead in Lebanon, mostly Hezbollah fighters, but also 79 civilians, according to a count by the France Presse agency.

On the Israeli side, at least 14 soldiers and ten civilians were killed in the hostilities, which displaced tens of thousands of civilians on both sides of the border.
