Xi sends condolences to Lula for victims of floods in Brazil
Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent condolences to his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva over the victims of the floods in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, local media reported.

In the message released by the Chinese press, Xi said he was shocked by the human and material damage caused by the devastating rains, wished a speedy recovery to the injured and expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.
Xi said he believes that the inhabitants of the affected areas will be able to overcome the difficulties and rebuild their homes soon.
The floods in southern Brazil have killed 150 people and left more than 600,000 homeless.
Brazil and China, which are celebrating 50 years of diplomatic ties, have once again strengthened political relations after Lula's return to power, who visited the Asian country in 2023.
