In (future) nuclear war, Putin and Xi warn: There will be no winners

The presidents of Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, issued a joint statement in which they express concern about the increased risks emerging from relations between nuclear powers.
According to a statement cited by the Russian press, the declaration points out that there can be no winners in a nuclear war,
According to the note, both Moscow and Beijing are concerned about Australia's participation in the United States' prevention plans.
The two countries will increase the number of military exercises between the two countries, and Beijing said it supports Russian efforts to ensure territorial integrity.
The meeting between Putin and Xi is taking place this Thursday and Friday, and is the first visit by the Russian leader abroad since he was re-elected this year.
On the eve of the visit, Putin said, in an interview with the official Chinese press, that the Kremlin wants to negotiate a solution to the conflict in Ukraine. "We are open to a dialogue on Ukraine, but these negotiations must take into account the interests of all countries involved in the conflict," he said.
The Russian leader's trip comes at a time when his country's forces have been stepping up an offensive in the Kharkiv region, in northeastern Ukraine, which began last week, in the most significant border incursion since the start of the full-scale invasion.
Along with Moscow's efforts to capitalize on its gains in the neighboring Donetsk region, the two-year war has entered a critical phase for the Ukrainian armed forces, which are awaiting new supplies of anti-aircraft missiles and artillery shells from the United States.
"We are looking for a comprehensive, sustainable and fair solution to this conflict," Putin said, quoted by Xinhua.
