The ultra-liberal Milei, who has not been in power since 10 December, left at the end of the afternoon on the presidential plane from Buenos Aires international airport, bound for Madrid, where he will arrive on Friday morning.
According to the spokesman for the Argentinian government, Manuel Adorni, quoted by the EFE agency, Milei intends to meet with the Spanish authorities on a second trip to the country, in June, when he will receive an award in Madrid.
On Friday, Milei will present his book "El camino del libertario" and on Saturday, the president and some members of his entourage, including his sister Karina Milei, secretary-general of the presidency, will meet with leaders of Spanish companies.
Milei has also scheduled a meeting with the deputy and president of the Vox party, Santiago Abascal, his main political ally in Spain.
The central event of the visit will take place on Sunday, when the Argentinian president will speak at the annual Vox convention, having already participated in last year's edition, when he was a presidential candidate.
