Guinea-Bissau's PR says he is restoring citizens' pride in the country's capital
The President of Guinea stated today that he is giving citizens back their pride with the urban redevelopment works in Bissau and that, in four years of office, he has done more than in the first 45 years of independence.

Sissoco Embaló spoke at the launch of the reconstruction works of Avenida do Brasil, which connects the Bandim market to the Chão de Papel neighborhood, Varela, in downtown Bissau.
That road, with an extension of about one kilometer, was practically unusable due to its advanced state of degradation.
The Guinean President took the opportunity to comment on the works carried out in the last four years and also announce others for the interior of the country and "many others" for Bissau, so that it becomes a city "increasingly comfortable and beautiful".
"Until 2020, Bissau did not represent our national pride, Bissau did not represent our national self-esteem. Until 2020, Bissau was a sad city, an ugly city, a city without hope, an abandoned city," he said.
The Guinean head of state said he is "a President of achievements" and that his promise "is a firm commitment to do concrete things" in the country.
"Children, young people and Guinean families have regained pride in their city of Bissau, foreign citizens living in Bissau have come to like Bissau again," defended Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
