A woman was arrested by the National Police last week after leaving her young son home alone in Palma de Mallorca, Spain
According to the authorities, quoted by Europa Press, the alerts reported a small child leaning over a balcony, at risk of falling.
At the scene, the officers verified the facts and spoke with a witness who stated that this type of episode was frequent, noting that the child spent a lot of time alone at home.
When they entered the residence, the authorities were able to see that the minor was alone in the living room throwing objects on the floor. In addition, the house was dirty and untidy, they noted.
A few minutes later, an aunt of the minor appeared, who said she did not know that he was alone, and called the boy's grandmother, who also went to the house.
The grandmother tried insistently to contact the child's mother, until she finally answered the phone and went to the house with an aggressive and very nervous attitude, "responding to the situation with threats and blows to the officers, stating that it was her son and that she did what she wanted", the police said.
For all these reasons, the officers arrested the mother as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of child abandonment.
