Bagheri ordered that "a high-level committee begin an investigation into the cause of the presidential helicopter crash," the news agency reported, a day after the disaster that killed nine people.
The wreckage of the helicopter that went missing on Sunday was discovered at dawn on the side of a mountain, in the Kalibar and Warzghan area, in the East Azerbaijan province, where the aircraft crashed for reasons that are still unknown.
According to reports in the Iranian press, the helicopter took off in difficult weather conditions.
Iranian rescue teams recovered the bodies of Ebrahim Raisi and the other eight passengers who were on board, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
After an intense search, made difficult by the adverse weather conditions, the Iranian government confirmed Raisi's death, adding that the disaster will not cause "any disruption to the administration" of the country.
This morning, Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, appointed Vice President Mohammad Mokhber as acting head of state and decreed five days of mourning for the death of Ebrahim Raisi.
The Iranian president's funeral ceremonies are due to begin on Tuesday in Tabriz, in the northwest of the country, the official Iranian agency reported today.
