The cargo ship Dali, which crashed into a bridge in Baltimore, United States, killing six people, was escorted back to a city marine terminal, where work will be carried out to recover the ship. About two months after the incident, the 300-meter-long cargo ship was refloated and slowly escorted and towed by several other vessels, still showing signs of the serious collision that occurred on March 26.

The Governor of the State of Maryland, Wes Moore, congratulated the work in progress, on the NBC News television channel, stating that he hopes that the channel will be "reopened by the end of May". On March 26 of this year, the Dali, a 300-meter-long ship flying the Singaporean flag, suffered a failure and crashed into the Francis Scott Key highway bridge, which collapsed in seconds, like a house of cards. Six workers who were carrying out repair work on the bridge, all Latin American immigrants, died. Since then, the container ship Dali has continued to partially block the access channel to the important commercial port on the east coast of the United States. The authorities in charge of the operation to remove the vessel from the site reported that the Dali would be ready to refloat from midday today (5:00 p.m. in Lisbon), before being moved at high tide on Monday, an operation scheduled for 5:24 a.m. (12:24 p.m. in Lisbon). Tugboats transported the Dali at a speed of about 1.6 kilometers per hour to a nearby marine terminal. The Francis Scott Key Bridge served a major highway in the northeastern United States, connecting the capital, Washington D.C., to New York City. As for the port of Baltimore, it is a hub for the trade of new vehicles in the United States, with about 850,000 cars and trucks passing through it last year, more than any other North American port.
