At least 3 dead, 2 injured in central China park attack
At least three people were killed and two others injured in an attack Monday at a park in the central Chinese city of Chenzhou, local authorities said Tuesday.

On the same day, at least two people died and four others were injured after being attacked by a woman with a knife at a primary school in the city of Guixi, in Jiangxi province, also in the center of the country.
On May 7, several people died after a man attacked people with a knife at a hospital in Yunnan province, in the south of the country.
Although China is generally a safe country, attacks in public places - such as schools - are relatively common. Chinese law strictly prohibits the sale and possession of firearms, so attacks are usually carried out with knives, homemade explosives or by running over.
Last July, a man attacked a kindergarten in the city of Lianjiang, in Guangdong province, in the southeast of the country, killing six people and injuring another.
