“I'm looking at it now on my finger and I have it back. I can't believe it,” says Inma, a woman from Onteniente, Valencia, Spain, who has just recovered her wedding ring. 

More than a month ago, the woman went to a meditation class at the oncology association she attends and took off the ring for the session. “I put it in the pocket of my coat, but I didn't close it. When we finished, I tied it to my waist and, when I was returning home, it fell on the street, a few meters from my building," says Inma.

When she checked her coat, she realized that she had lost the ring. 

"For days I did the same route looking for it, but I ended up thinking that it was lost and it was very difficult because it was my wedding ring after 31 years of happy marriage,” says Inma, who explains that “my husband told me that it was okay, that we would buy another one, but I wanted that one, even my mother gave me hers, but it wasn't mine either,” she tells Telecinco. 

One day, her reiki teacher told her that a news story had appeared in which the owner of a ring in Ontinyent was being sought.

“Half the city knew and I hadn't heard anything about it,” she explains.

She quickly found the phone number of Evelyn, the girl who had the ring, and called her. "When she answered the phone, she asked me for the inscription on the ring to check if I was the owner and I told her: ‘Toni 17-7-93’. It's my husband's name and our wedding date," she reveals.

This Sunday they met to return the ring. “When we saw each other, there was gratitude and the kind of hug that brings strangers together thanks to doing the right thing. As soon as I was able to talk to her, I was infected by her emotion and that made this odyssey worthwhile,” Evelyn tells the same media outlet.

“We were both moved when we saw each other, I couldn't believe what was happening to me. We live very close to each other and, for me, it's a friendship for life,” reiterates Inma, who says that the protagonist of this beautiful story is none other than Evelyn.

“The normal thing is for people to keep the ring, sell it and keep the money, but she spent a whole month looking for me on social networks, spoke to the media and answered dozens of phone calls every day. All of it altruistically so that I could have my wedding ring back," she says, gratefully.
