New duck breast eating contest is coming. Record is 728g in 5 min
Last year, the charcutier Pierre Idrac won the competition after eating no less than 728 g of grilled duck in five minutes.

It's an unusual world championship and it has been taking place every year since 1982, in the small village of Saramon, Gers, in France. It will happen again this Tuesday.
The world championship for devouring duck breast takes place during the Saint-Victor festivities. It is in the central square of this village with less than 900 inhabitants that the organizers will award the prize to the person who eats the most duck breasts in the world, advances Le Parisien.
"The idea is to eat as many duck breasts as possible in 5 minutes, using plastic cutlery", says the president of the local town hall, Éric Balducci, to the regional newspaper Occitan.
Although the contest, which this year starts at 4:30 pm, is open to everyone, places are hard to get, since people have to sign up on the spot at the last minute and the maximum number of participants is 15.
Last year, the butcher Pierre Idrac won the contest after eating no less than 728 g of grilled duck in five minutes. He followed in the footsteps of Bernard Lasbats, winner of the contest eleven times and holder of the record for eating one kilo of duck breast in five minutes.
During this duck breast fair, several hundred kilos of the delicacy are grilled to be enjoyed in a convivial atmosphere.
