The Mossos d'Esquadra have recovered an 18th-century violin, worth 22,000 euros, that had been stolen, and arrested two men.

According to the Spanish press, the violin had been stolen from its owner's car, in a car park in Cabrera de Mar, Barcelona, on May 10.

Now, the Catalan police have managed to recover the instrument and arrested two men for the alleged theft and for another seven crimes of robbery, theft, dangerous driving and forgery of documents.

One of the suspects was arrested on May 16 and the other two days later.

In addition to the violin, the Mossos d'Esquadra found "several stolen objects". The authorities reached the owner of the instrument, after contacting a shop selling and repairing instruments in Barcelona, which identified the piece and the owner.

The investigation is still active, as there is a possibility that the detainees are involved in other criminal acts.

The Mossos d'Esquadra highlighted this action on social networks and shared a video, which you can see in the gallery above.
