At least 7 Palestinians killed, 25 injured in West Bank raid
At least seven Palestinians have been killed and 25 wounded in an ongoing Israeli military raid that entered its 12th hour in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin refugee camp

Among the dead, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported, were two teenagers aged 15 and 16, as well as Osayd Kamal Jabareen, 51, the head of the surgery department at Jenin government hospital, a 48-year-old teacher driving to work, and a 22-year-old student.
The Israeli military said it was carrying out a "counterterrorism operation" in the area, based on intelligence, and said it was looking into "allegations" of injuries to "uninvolved" people, its term for local residents.
In addition to the seven fatalities, 19 other Palestinians were wounded earlier in the day, including journalist Amr Manasra, who was shot in the back, and six more were wounded in the afternoon, four by gunfire.
The Red Crescent said that Israeli authorities, as is common, were preventing medical crews from reaching the wounded.
Israeli forces moved into the Jenin refugee camp in armored vehicles and bulldozers before dawn, triggering gun battles in the camp and elsewhere in the city.
The occupied West Bank has seen a surge in violence since the second intifada, or uprising, of 2000-2005, and at least 184 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces so far this year, including many civilians and more than 30 children.
On the Israeli side, 10 people have been killed in eight Palestinian attacks this year, including four soldiers and six civilians, three of them settlers.
The year 2023 has been the deadliest in nearly two decades, with more than 520 fatalities. After a Hamas attack on Oct. 7, the Israeli military stepped up its near-nightly raids in the occupied West Bank, leading to the deaths of 513 Palestinians, including a dozen killed by settler attacks.
