Father arrested after death of eight-year-old daughter in France
The child had been hospitalised since Sunday, but ended up dying.

An eight-year-old girl found in cardiac arrest at her home in Bondy, France on Sunday died on Tuesday morning, and her father was arrested by the police.
According to AFP, which quotes the Bobigny Public Prosecutor's Office and a source close to the investigation, the inquiry initially opened on charges of violence against a minor under 15 was changed to the charge of murder of a minor under 15.
It all happened on Sunday, when emergency services were called to a home in Bondy. The girl, found in cardiac arrest, was taken to a hospital and ended up dying today.
The father, 49, was present at the time of the incident and was arrested on the spot because he "showed sufficient evidence to justify his placement in preventive detention".
So far, no information has been given about the circumstances that led to the child's death.
